A Little Anecdote for “Settled Science” Comparisons

It’s cold and snowy…up there where Bingley and Kcruella and DonnaD be. It got me remembering our first New Jersey winter. We’d moved up from MIAMI in 1960 and were treated to a cumulative winter snowfall of ~ I called the Grinch to double check my figures ~ 157 inches.

You guys are a third of the way there already. Bundle up!

As for rats’ asses, here’s some “settled” hockey stick in your eye (links shamelessly stolen from the comments at WattsUpWithThat):

June 4, 1999
“Warm Winters Result From Greenhouse Effect, Columbia Scientists Find, Using NASA Model”

“Does it seem warm in here to you?”

March 2000
“Snowfalls are now just a thing of the past”

ABOUT….FACE!!!
Nov. 17, 2010
“Global Warming Could Cool Down Northern Temperatures in Winter”

Yes, they really could!

December 2010
“Expect more extreme winters thanks to global warming, say scientists” and (January 2011) World News Tonight.

In a mere ten years of prognostications, the Gorebal Alarmists have gone through more CONTRADICTORY warning flags then a Maytag Washer’s spin cycle. We’re past the point where they’re saving anything, but their belching, magical grant justification fabrication machine. It’s raining? “POOF!” Global warming! KA-CHING$ Oh, my goodness ~ now you’re cold? Wave that thing, Ka-CHING $$!! Hot and dry, you say? No problem! “POOF!”
Global warming! KA-CHING$$$

And what’s it cost us? Only our jobs, real lightbulbs, jobs, gas mileage, jobs, more affordable food, jobs, reasonable energy costs, jobs…on and on.

But all the onerous regulations keep the little people in line and help control the allocation of the resources (which suits certain “allocative” agendas very nicely, but pisses your average plumber type person off).

I’m sure someone will add a “but it’s for the children” to the end of that sentence…
So am I a H8R if I no longer give a rat’s ass about that either?

It’s feeling all a little shopworn.

I’m sorry, I can’t read this post since I starved to death about four decades ago just as the scientists predicted.

A thousand pardons and tears of regret. That should read “peer reviewed, settled science”.
