It’s as if CNN is trying to become SNL.

Sorry guys, I don’t see it. I recognize the possibility, but I also recognize a much larger number of possibilities for actual glitches in video production….
…Maybe CNN should get the benefit of the doubt. There’s an old saying: Never ascribe to malice that which can be explained by incompetence. Given CNN’s recent performance in the marketplace, that statement seems apt.
I’m not convinced. It seems a little too convenient, does it not, that this ‘glitch’ appears only on Cheney? Anyone else in all the thousands of live feeds and transitions done by CNN over the years ever have the same sort of glitch?

CNN is tap dancing (they use X’s for stage marks, too, ya know) and a rival news director is asking the hard questions like:

Brain terminal and some others think it’s probably just incompetence. It looks like the X was supposed to be a transition marker (but you never know).
Michelle Malking is following this — the “X” appears to be a glitch, although that is not fully confirmed.

Prolly happened a bunch of times to Kerry and Dean, but there was noone watching to see it……
Someone said to me that because the “X” is so perfectly centered on V.P. Cheney, that it seems deliberate.
Well, the centering I guess could have happened even in an error, as the camera was centered on him.
