I had the great honor of seeing some of you because a comrade of yours, Jared Monti, was the first person who I was able to award the Medal of Honor to who actually came back and wasn’t receiving it posthumously.”
As we all know, SSG Sal Giunta, of the 173rd Airborne, was the first living recipient (2011) of the MOH who fought in Iraq/Afganistan.
SFC Jared Monti, 10th Mountain Division, was KIA in Afghanistan in 2006.
He was posthumously awarded the MOH by Obama in 2009

There are times that I have to wonder if this level of stupidity is natural talent….or deliberate antagonizing of the American people by the President of the United States.
Cynical? Nope. Paranoid? You tell me.
Either way, President Asshat needs to STFU. Dear God, Joe Biden is less prone to gaffes.

Jeez Barry, at least make an effort. My gosh, if George Bush would’ve made this mistake it would lead every newscast for three or four days. Of course George Bush wouldn’t have made this mistake.
I think part of it is that they all care so little about the military – and about individuals, rather than collectives – that they just can’t be arsed to get it right.
They’re more interested in groupthink, where individuals don’t matter.
He loves the optics and the captive audience he can preach to and who is duty bound to laugh at his jokes, just like ANY military despising liberal always has, once they find themselves on that podium in a hangar. Then they out-clever themselves. Did you see Carney saying he didn’t have TOTUS with him, or use cards?
Like the “don’t forget the Russians” scene in Patton, WHY wasn’t someone going, “He’s the DEAD guy” in a stage whisper? Because the ego at the microphone is so in love with the sound of his own mellifluence, he can never hear another thing besides himself anyway.

Obama sees those who die for America’s right to freedom and security as trivial and unworthy of his elitist liberal sentiments. He doesn’t much less care what the Medal of Honor stands for, let alone who actually it is awarded to. He is a disgrace to the memory of warriors like Monti and to Giunta. Why would you think a man such as Obama, who, for his entire life, has railed against the U.S. Constitution and those upon whom we rely to protect its sovereignty. Obama hates vintage American heritage and those who pay the blood-ransom required for peace and liberty. Let’s hope Obama’s unwanted presence as CIC is over soon.
