Sony Ordered to Halt PlayStation Sales

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Sony Corp. said on Monday it was ordered by a U.S. court to halt sales of its blockbuster PlayStation consoles in the United States and pay $90 million in damages to a California tech company, Immersion Corp. (IMMR), whose shares jumped more then 5 percent.
Seems the big guys had pinched (‘infringed’, heh) Immersion’s technology that makes a game controller vibrate in sync with actions in games. Buy yours now, before the order goes into effect. Or better yet…don’t. Corporate fascists.

Hmm, as the owner of 2 playstations, and x-box and a gamecube, I’ve got all the bases covered.
I’ve got a bunch of those controllers; maybe I can re-sell them on Ebay…
I was just asking Ebola about those four N-64 controllers, like new, in the box, that we have for momentous ‘uncles’ visits. He seems upset by the mere suggestion of them appearing on eBay.
Whoa! Holy crap! Those things are going for $12-$15 a piece! Ooooh, can’t wait ’til the little ‘collector’ heads off to work….
I have a Logitech USB controller for the old War Horse. Unfortunately the PC itself needs to go to pasture, as games tend to freeze. This is fun in Madden, for example. “Back to pass…” And JUST as I am about to let it fly, the picture stops – but the sound keeps going:
“The ball’s on it’s way!”
What?
“And it’s intercepted!”
WHAT? Wait a minute!
“He’s at the 40… the 30!”
I CAN’T SEE! HOW CAN I TACKLE HIM?
“Touchdown!”

Coupled with my dead monitor and grumpy printer(note #5 here), I have a LOT of fun at the Hive. But I must say, for the number of times I’ve actually thrown the controller in frustration, Logitech makes a durable peripheral.
Hey sis, we could use some of that N64 stuff, as ‘Sader II and I play it quite often, even with having the xbox.
