Chris Matthews Calls Republican Party “The Grand Wizard Crowd”

After arguing with MSNBC contributor and former chairman of the RNC Michael Steele over Mitt Romney being a “flat-earther,” Chris Matthews called the Republican party the “Grand Wizard crowd.”

Michael Steele called out Matthews, who eventually doubled-down on his remark.

“I resent that. What is this ‘grand wizard’ nonsense?” Steele asked.

“I should say the far-right party,” Matthews retorted.

“Are you saying that we’re the Ku Klux Klan? Give me a break. Don’t go there with me on that,” Steele warned.

“Okay. Great. Good. Thank you,” Matthews cracked. “There’s none of those problems over there. All those birthers out there.”

“Oh my gosh,” Steele could be heard saying.

major dad nails it… Let’s see… what party had a Wizzard in the Senate for generations and what part was formed to help stop slavery?

As I noted on another blog, the KKK can be defined as “Democrats who don’t appreciate the 13th Amendment”.

That’s easy. The answers are “shut up” and “Shut up”.

Democrat Senators organized the record Senate filibuster of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Included among the organizers were several prominent and well known liberal Democrat standard bearers including:

Robert Byrd, senator from West Virginia

    J. William Fulbright, Arkansas senator and political mentor of Bill Clinton

Albert Gore Sr., Tennessee senator, father and political mentor of Al Gore. Gore Jr. has been known to lie about his father’s opposition to the Civil Rights Act.

Sam Ervin, North Carolina senator of Watergate hearings fame

Richard Russell, famed Georgia senator and later President Pro Tempore.

Just to name a few. Is this what you’re looking for?

    There’s more modern day versions.

Oh, you all did so well! Cheerful Bob Byrd, whose name is spread far and wide over every standing edifice in West Virginia is always the first sheetwearing poobah I think of, but the list IS long and distinguishable, isn’t it?

If a certain ethnic voting block actually KNEW and appreciated their history ~ re: currently’s Civil Rights Act of 1964 ~ they’d never vote for these blustering charlatans.

  8. mojo says:

The KKK was a Democratic organization almost exclusively.

I wouldn’t count on that THS. That was then, this is now. Most of the members of that “certain ethnic voting block” don’t want to break their rice bowls by voting Pachyderm. They will stick with the Jackass Party.

“President Obama will pay my mortgage and put gas in my car.” All too many Americans now are frantically looking around for a mess of pottage.
