Public Service Announcement

Considering that the FBI says:

FBI: Hundreds of Thousands May Lose Internet in July

For computer users, a few mouse clicks could mean the difference between staying online and losing Internet connections this summer.

Unknown to most of them, their problem began when international hackers ran an online advertising scam to take control of infected computers around the world. In a highly unusual response, the FBI set up a safety net months ago using government computers to prevent Internet disruptions for those infected users. But that system is to be shut down.

…I wanted to give you all a chance to check your IPs with their approved partner.

So I’m supposed to let an ‘approved partner’ of the same administration that classed combat veterans, Tea Party members, pretty much any group that doesn’t care for Bam as ‘potential domestic terrorists’ root around in my computer.

    It’s for your own good.

Never much cared for the assumptions behind that phrase.

Cynic. I wouldn’t do that to you. You don’t download anything and your anti-virus would catch it anyway. It’s an IP ping.

THS, I know you wouldn’t do that. It’s the gubmint I don’t trust.
