    Yep.

LOL – now that’s an old one. I recognize it. Pentagon used to say Mensa.

Still, if the shoe fits… but I don’t think Hagel comes near to qualifying for Mensa. Except maybe for doors… lol.

God, I pity the military these next 4 years.

    Hehe, how sadly true.

Right, but make that pity for the battalion levels (Lieutenant Colonel) and below…the flag ranks, in large measure, have already been co-opted. Look in to how many “sudden” retirements there are these days, and short MACOM terms. It began with Gates and Hagel is the continuation.

Watch…dozens of administrative seat warmer commands will be retained while divisions of combat arms are disposed of in purported cost savings….while DARPA continues funding weird science like the collective conduct of shinner fish.

He’s in for a big surprise. Hagel does not have the brain power for the job. Being a junior enlisted man for a couple of years 40yrs ago does not exactly make you an expert on things military now.

Aridog, I watched a similar exodus back in 2005, but somewhat less due to political numb skullery and more to bad personnel management and DoD ass covering.

Seeing as I retired in 2006, I can only imagine what’s happening to field and company grade officers now. I fear that the damage to the NCO corps will be catastrophic. In a decade (two, at the most), we’ll look like some European militaries.

  8. JeffS says:

True dat, Major Dad. But his (politically appointed) aids and assistants will do the decision making and paperwork, and have Hagel chop off it before he drinks too much.
