Lawnmowers Of Death Over America

But it’s ok because we trust they won’t abuse their power.

With the tendency we have of killing our own Marines and sailors with drones, I certainly wouldn’t trust the ATF or the FBI to or any other government Barney Fife to not kill innocents along with or instead of whoever they intend to kill. And that’s not even getting into if they are corrupt and simply targeting political enemies.

  2. Skyler says:

Further, 2d Recon Battalion and the Air Force used a drone firing a hell fire missile to kill the two men in my battalion, but they were intending to kill a lone gunman in an unpopulated rural site while a full platoon of Marines was actively maneuvering against the gunman.

How much money did that cost? We are fighting a war of attrition over a very long time period. How much longer can we continue to spend millions and billions for every thousand dollars the enemy spends?

And why on Earth would we think that such expenses are worth it in our own country where the good guys vastly out number any threat?

    I agree 100% Skyler.

And Skyler’s argument takes the floor with a vengeance, woot! WOOT!

Suck a fucking stone, John McCain.

I saw some war pr0n recently, Apaches supporting ground forces who had found a large group of Taliban in the open. They used their 30MM until they ran out of ammo, and then switched to Hell Fire missiles.

On, as Skyler notes, individuals. All of them running away from the scene. One per person. I can see wanting to kill all of the bad guys. But, strategically, one missile per person? For clean up?

Yet our troops don’t a hot breakfast because of budget issues. Last I heard, anywho. That makes no sense.

Because the people running this country really don’t care about the expenses. They’re more interested in control. They mistakenly equate the ability to kill people remotely (which is what armed drones are all about) with control.

  7. Skyler says:

and the more I think of this the angrier I get.

To a man with a hammer, everything looks like a nail. We opened the box for letting the police have SWAT and other paramilitary units, and now we have sleepy counties in Texas with their own armored vehicles, no knock raids are common place, and dogs get routinely shot when the police go to the wrong home on their no knock raids. Police are running around looking all Tacti-Cool™ and police departments fund themselves with amazing technology and gadgets paid for from asset forfeiture.

If we let anyone in the government start claiming the power to zap from on high any individual or group they suspect of being bad, then we will start getting drones overhead in every county of this nation, and Barney Fife will be ordering executions.

Drones make it seem easy to kill.

  8. Mr. Bingley says:

    Again, Skyler, I agree 1000%
