And So Here We Are
It is a day for two things, it seems to me. Firstly, to raise a glass in memory of the 3000 of our fellow citizens who were so cruelly and wantonly slaughtered 12 long years ago.
Secondly, if we want to honor, to truly honor, their memory we do it not by transforming this event into some sort of state religious cult of gnashing and wailing but rather by vibrantly, enthusiastically living our lives and each precious day therein as if it may be our last, always looking and working towards the future that they had stolen from them in a way that says “get stuffed” to those who would control us, murder us or force us down certain paths for “our own good.”
