So, mainstream old guard republicans and lefties are happy that Boehner is doing something that protects the old guard republicans and lefties.

Poor, poor John Boehner, having to actually assert himself. As though he just learned how to do it.

He was a willing participant, but he’s too immersed in the DC culture to want to be put in the category of defending freedom.

So he makes an agreement that protects federal workers, leftists, and punishes military retirees, mostly on the right and the folks that vote for republicans. It’s sad that the military can be categorized that way, but it’s largely true.

And he essentially takes away the House’s only tool to fight with.

We’re doomed. There will be no end to the slide into a complete socialist dream such as Marx envisioned.

It was a good run, America.

$23 billion reduction in spending over 10 years? That’s 2.3 billion/yr. The gov just spent $1 billion on a web site that doesn’t work. Doesn’t seem near enough in reductions, does it? I thought maybe $23 billion/yr might be a good start.

    Not very encouraging.
