CBO: O-Care slowing growth, contributing to job losses
The new healthcare law will slow economic growth over the next decade, costing the nation about 2.5 million jobs and contributing to a $1 trillion increase in projected deficits, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) said in a report released Tuesday.
The nonpartisan agency’s report found the healthcare law’s negative effects on the economy will be “substantially larger” than what it had previously anticipated.
The CBO is now estimating the law will reduce labor force compensation by 1 percent from 2017-2024, twice the reduction it previously had projected.
This will decrease the number of full-time equivalent jobs in 2021 by 2.3 million, the CBO said. It had previously estimated the decrease would be 800,000.
You know what they say about ASStimates.
But it’s not Nancy Pelosi’s responsibility ~ she made THAT quite clear. So who to blame?

I’m a little confused by the “feels” like a tax increase. As I point out in in Instapundit’s comment section (from whence I stole this Tweet.):
Did I miss something, or didn’t our very own Supreme Court SAY ObamaCare WAS a tax? So when those premiums skyrocket, it’s FEELING like a tax increase because IT IS.
Right?

I could read only the first dozen or so leftie responses. Teh Stupid™ was overwhelming.
In the article I read, the Obama administration claimed this was a feature, and not a bug. The ACA, they said, would free millions of people from the burden of labor. Why, they basically asked rhetorically, should families be expected to work to earn money to buy the things they need to live?
I nearly barfed.
Sure it’s a feature not a bug. With no, or inadequate, income such people will go on welfare. More clients for the Dems’ welfare state, requiring more taxes and spending to meet their “needs” for living, and more people to vote Jackass lest their goodies be taken away. We’ll soon reach the point they have in Britain where, for example, in Scotland there are only 15,000 people who pay more in taxes than they receive in government bennies, or the case of a jihadist imam who was getting 50,000 pounds a year in bennies (including a large house) while never having done a lick of work and spending all his time preaching jihad and plotting terrorism. Like Glenn Reynolds quotes, “They’ll turn us all into beggers cause they’re easier to please.”
