On This Day in 1587 a Different Redhead

…whacked a rival…

…who just happened to be a babe, too. (No mention in the historical record of ‘diapers’.)
What a way to get ahead.

  1. “I think she’s dead”
    “No I’m not”

  2. [Sorry, should have put in more context]
“You are Mary, Queen of Scots?”
    “I am”
    [Two minutes of crash-bang-boom]
    “I think she’s dead”
    “No I’m not”
    [More crash-bang-boom]

  3. Mr. Bingley says:

    “Where’s our pillow”
“Oh, er, um, hey, lay your head on this piece of oak! it’s very…orthopedic, good for those aches!”
    chop

Typo alert! You forgot to insert a space between “a” and “head”.
    ;-P

  5. Mr. Bingley says:

Hehe, that reminds me of some old Benny Hill Skits, where how you say the sentence makes all the difference
“What’s that in the road ahead?”
“What’s that in the road; a head?”
    “What’s this thing called ‘love’?”
    “What’s this thing called, love?”
    hehehe

  6. That Benny Hill sketch reminds of a word puzzle from way back. How can you make this sentence make sense?
Caesar entered on his head, his helmet on his arm, his shield in his hand, his trusty sword walking swiftly.

  7. Nightfly says:

“This is a different kind of flying, altogether.”
Ken: Caesar entered – on his head, his helmet; on his arm, his sheild; in his hand, his trusty sword – walking swiftly. The dashes are semi-cheating but I’m only semi-coherent today.

  8. How DARE you be “only semi-coherent” HERE?!
    Off with his head!

  9. He was semi-coherent. You may take off only half his head.
Then again, he did use some semicolons too.
Nice job, Nightfly! Dashes aren’t cheating when used properly.

  10. You may take off only half his head.
    Dashed if I will.

  11. Mr. Bingley says:

If you take his semicolon will he have to use astronaut Pampers, too?

  12. The_Real_JeffS says:

    Which half?

  13. Nightfly says:

Does this mean I get a pass for misspelling “shield”? Off with (half of) everyone’s head!

  14. Gary from Jersey says:

I get all the way down here and not one snark about Anna Nicole Smith? I mean, look at the flat babe (Mr. Bingley’s term) and you people can’t make a leap?

  15. Mr. Bingley says:

You know, I just can’t snark about her. I feel horrible for her little girl who will never know her mother, regardless of mom’s quality, and will only know lawyers and factions fighting over her inheritance.

  16. Nah, me neither. There’s enough Nancy Graces and Rosie O’Donnells in the world, if someone’s of a mind to need more. We weren’t above taking shots at her long before it turned into this mess, but it wouldn’t be right now that she’s gone. In my mind, it hasn’t been right since her son died.
    Squalidly sad.

  17. Yeah, I’m with Mr. Bingley and THS on that one.
Squalidly sad is the best description I’ve heard yet.
