Amazing Discovery!

This just in: Ice Melts In Summer!

EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) — A chunk of ice spreading across 18 square kilometers (seven square miles) has broken off a Canadian ice shelf in the Arctic, scientists said Tuesday.
… Mueller said the sheet broke away last week from the Ward Hunt Ice Shelf off the north coast of Ellesmere Island in Canada’s far north. He said a crack in the shelf was first spotted in 2002 and a survey this spring found a network of fissures.
The sheet is the biggest piece shed by one of Canada’s six ice shelves since the Ayles shelf broke loose in 2005 from the coast of Ellesmere, about 500 miles from the North Pole.
Formed by accumulating snow and freezing meltwater, ice shelves are large platforms of thick, ancient sea ice that float on the ocean’s surface. Ellesmere Island was once entirely ringed by a single enormous ice shelf that broke up in the early 1900s.

You know, the early 1900s, when people were driving all those, er, and flying in all those, um…
I blame Bush, Samuel Prescott Bush.

    Good call Bingley.
I think the Left has fallen down on their job of Bush bashing. I guess they need a history lesson.
There are generations and generations of Bush’s to blame for everything in U.S. history.
Great Depression – Samuel Prescott Bush
Robber Barons – Samuel Prescott Bush
Slaughtering Indians – Samuel Prescott Bush
Civil War – Rev. James Smith Bush
Taking land from Mexico – Rev. James Smith Bush
The burning of D.C. during War of 1812 – Obadiah Newcomb Bush
I’m sure we can go even further.
Anyone remember the Black Plague? Yep. Bush
How about the Fall of Rome? Bush
Losing the Arc of the Covenant? Bush
Eating the forbidden fruit? Yes, you guessed it: Adam BUSH.

Doncha know, Bingster? The Gorebal Warmenistas blame our impending doom on the rise of the Industrial Age, not just cars and planes. You know…..EVERYTHING.
    Freakin’ Luddites.

I wasn’t aware that the “leftists” were blaming BUSH for global warming. I think the “leftists” are blaming the complete lack of action on Bush.
Well done puting a political spin on obvious proof that the world is heating up at an alarming rate. Your ignorance is, of course, not surprising. The “rightest” care nothing about the environment and protecting it for their children. Congrats.

  4. WunderKraut says:

Hmmm care to provide this “obvious proof”?
I know, the polar ice caps are melting…but is that from warming or the underground volcanoes?
How about the sun spot cycle? It seems there is a pretty good relationship between the activity and temps.
IF we are causing all this warming and IF there is anything we can do about it, how come the only solutions revolve around reshaping our life in ways that neatly fit into Communist/Socialist desires? Odd no?

Hey THS or Bingley, my comment got stuck in moderation….let my comment go free!!! Free!!!!

    Hey Educated Person,
That’s right. I hate the earth. Want everything green to die. I want corporations to ruin everything. I want to poison my kids.
    That’s right. I don’t care.
At least when I speak of the Leftist/Socialist/Communists desires to destroy my life, I have proof. Just look at their solutions.
You couldn’t get your Socialist policies into law because Americans are too smart for that and don’t want them. So you invent a scary boogie man and use it to frighten people into doing what ever their overlords say.
I feel the tide is turning. Americans are getting fed up with the constant drum beat of doom and gloom. They are not going to put up with the policies that are being advocated to stop the warming. In my opinion, this is the year that Global Warming jumped the shark. You overplayed your hand.
Do you really think Americans are going to pay for these “fixes” when gas is over $4, food prices are going through the roof (thanks ethanol) and they are worried about losing their house?

  7. Moses cracking the tablets?
    BURNING Bush.
Adding to a biblical carbon footprint, of course.

  8. Ice in the arctic and antarctic has been growing and shrinking for tens of thousands of years, long before SUVs were driven by wealthy Washington and Hollywood hypocrites. You may want to do a little research on solar activity cycles before condemning mankind to global poverty with your socialist schemes.
I have a question for all of you who want to protect everything for our children. What is the point? I assume that if we can’t cut down trees and can’t drill for oil, then our children won’t be able to do that either. Or their children. Or their grandchildren. Or their greatgrandchildren.
Exactly when will anyone be able to use anything? What is the point of civilization? Of living? Or do you see everyone huddled in primitive communal groups, wearing clothes made out of dead leaves, lectured to by Al Gore, and eating berries? (No, wait, we have to protect those berries for our children!)
If we don’t drill for oil, where do you think we’ll get the things made from petroleum? Are you ready to give up your iPod or iPhone?

Either way, they are blaming Bush. Which is silly, ‘cuz a large of the watermelon argument against the USA/Bush is the failure to ratify the Kyoto Protocol……which took place on Clinton’s watch.
Yet another day on the river of Denial.

  12. Gunslinger says:

Bush couldn’t have signed it anyway since the Senate shot it down 95-0.

  13. The_Real_JeffS says:

Correct, Gunslinger, but Clinton tried to push it through the Senate, and failed miserably. He then let it fester for Dubya to clean up, when he did, and admirably so.

  14. Mr. Bingley says:

Those great protectors of Gaia, Clinton and Gore, never even attempted to present the treaty to the Senate after Byrd-Hagel.
    Damn you, Dubya.
