While We’ve Still Got Power
Up the street has already lost it. Very wet, heavy snow. Absolutely beautiful.
But deadly to power lines.
If/when the wind picks up, we’re going dark.

Same thing here. . . enjoying the internet while I can. Stay warm!
Hope you got some back up, Mr. B.
Just a warning (my apologies if you already know this): Do NOT use charcoal inside. It emits carbon monoxide while burning, and is deadly to breath.
Oh, it’s so GORGEOUS! Make sure you’ve got the flashlights staged!
Looks like something from Dr Zhivago.Laura and him went to his family’s estate in the wintertime.
Good luck, keep warm, and hang in there.
Wow!
I should have said that those photos are fantastic!
Although I’d hate to be anywhere near those downed power lines.
They don’t run the power lines underground?
I mean they don’t run them underground here, but it don’t snow here, either.
No, in our stretch they’re not underground, Winston. I *guess* it costs too much.
Oh, and so far the weathermen have been wrong and the wind hasn’t picked up, so yippee!
I just finished the first hour of shoveling…
Beautiful – looks just like our house in Somerset – except we have a tree down in the back yard! Tree Hugging Sister – I’m finally adding comments!
There was a tree down in our neighborhood, enitrely blocking the street behind mine. Saw it while walking the dog. By the time I got home, finished shoveling out, and went back with the camera, it was cut into hunks and moved to the side – I’m guessing by the large crowd of neighbors with power saws. There are also power lines down though we never lost the juice at our house.
It IS gorgeous to look at, though.
