Council votes to close snapper and grouper fishing off Florida
Massive closure could take effect in December…The ban area covers 4,827 square miles, from just north of the Florida-Georgia border to southern Brevard County, in waters from 98 feet to 240 feet deep.
Our local guys tell us that there’s more snapper and grouper than you can shake a stick at already, and these bans had really crippled our charter industry long before BP started belching crude. But now, if you take the Atlantic out of it, too? Gad zookerdoodles ~ it’s going to be devastating economically and boy, oh boy ~ nobody can handle that right now.
Oh, WTF, people! Let’s all switch to those little poo-eating tilapia, why don’t we?
Considering what the administration’s been serving up on a regular basis, it’s getting hard to differentiate.

Sometimes it really feels like the powers that be are INTENTIONALLY doing everything they can to impede economic health. I swear. The timing!? Gah.
I’m a filet-o-fish (artificial fish, e.g.) person, myself. Heh.
Hahahahahaha. Love the sense of humor, as well. It’s definitely getting harder to differentiate, I agree.
Why all the economic problems in America?
While I am a beef eater and Beefeater drinker on occasion, a fried grouper sandwich is pretty freaking good. I’ll be pissed if they mess with that little treat.
In fairness, aren’t shrimp, catfish and crab poo eaters too? (Not that I’m arguing with your basic point.) I feel badly for all the fishermen on the Gulf right now.
Actually, no, they are not poo eaters. Commercial catfish are fed corn and wild ones eat other fish, crayfish etc. Shrimp eat plankton and crabs are a scavenger, they eat anything. Tilapia on the other hand eat their own poo as witnessed on a very informative episode of “Dirty Jobs” with Mike Rowe.
