Bush Is Not A Nazi, Really

My wonderful bride is a much better Net surfer than I am, and she is always finding these very interesting sites that I never have seen. Last night she showed me German Joys, and this post where the author, who is no big fan of his, gives a clear example of what life might be like if GWB really was a Nazi.

As the Man says, read the whole thing, but also read the comments, as it's always entertaining to see the goofy comments that appear in support of the Bushymcchimpyhitler meme.

*link fixed. I am a moron.

Maybe it's me, but the link isn't working.

Ugh, you're right. Lemme see what I did.

Very interesting piece.

Sort of ties in a little with your series on the Marvel comics, I thought, Cullen.

Yes, I think so, Bing.

I love the commentor that wrote "Bush is very much working toward having a sovereign executive branch..." Um, how exactly is he doing this? HOW? What has he done specifically? One hundred bucks says if I actually could be bothered with the fight and asked the person who wrote it directly, they would either 1) not answer the question or 2) pull something out of their ass or 3) resort to whataboutery.

"whataboutery"

"Last night she showed me German Joys"

and, no, Ken, this didn't involve leather.

Although I may watch "Blazing Saddles" tonight...

Um, my civics classes were some time ago but I specifically remember hearing that the executive brand is supposed to be sovereign, in the sense of "independent of and not subordinate to the other branches".

I only wish the idiots who scream "Bush=Hitler" could be forced to live under a REAL Nazi regime.

If they have their way, 'slinger, they'd be running something very like one themselves.

Ken,
The executive branch is still accountable to the legislative and judicial branches and I'm pretty sure that's what this person was hinting at: Bush was trying to crown himself a King who didn't answer to anybody.

Except to Rove, of course, Emily.

But we all answer to him.
