The Senate Wants Federal Employees
...you know, the mostly air-conditioned office type ~ to get a 2.7% pay raise in January. A pittance and fair enough. Until you realize the Senate also thinks the military's worth only a 2.2% pay raise for what THEY do.
I sent a little note emphasizing that I thought we were worth at least as much as Madge the secretary. (Or her only as much as us.)

There are more Federal employees than roaches (and certainly more than military types) in DC, and they all vote Democrat.

Disgusting. I really wish everyone would just vote against every incumbant.

Everyone votes their pocketbook, John.

I have a hard time having a problem with a 2.7% pay raise for government employees ... you know, being one and all.
But I do have a problem with the 2.2% for the military.
And I vote Republican.

I have a huge problem with the 2.2%, too. Less than three is barely cost-of-living, I agree with Cullen on that score - so why even less for people who make their living in places where they get blown up and shot at? Should be three times what they're offering, at least.

This is a typical pay raise scenario for Federal employees versus the military, and I like it even less. I have never understood it, nor agreed with it.
