Obama authorizes secret support for Libya rebels

President Barack Obama has signed a secret order authorizing covert U.S. government support for rebel forces seeking to oust Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, government officials told Reuters on Wednesday.

Obama signed the order, known as a presidential “finding”, within the last two or three weeks, according to four U.S. government sources familiar with the matter.

Remind me again ~ whose side is this asshole on?

   I have no doubt that any arms we give to the Libyan rebels will be out here in Afghanistan or Iraq in short order.

   I really don’t know what kind of weapons we could give them that they don’t already have. Anything heavier would require a lot of training and we would be complete morons if we gave them any sort of anti-armor, mortars or let alone Stingers. Skyler is completely correct too.

   It’s the politicians talking, Major Dad. To them, weapons is weapons, regardless of whether they were made to NATO or Warsaw Pact standards.

   So, to them, air dropping a few pallets of grenades is the same thing as shipping in a couple MLRS batteries.
