Excuse ME?

…One of the little-known features of Harry Reid’s “compromise” proposal–no detailed version of which exists–is that it would “deem” budgets to have been enacted for fiscal years 2012 and 2013.

Powerline takes the bloom off Harry’s vile rose.

But you have to read it to find out what’s in it before you pass it.

It’s a shame that our elected officials are allowed to play demolition debt derby with our country. I say it’s time to pass laws requiring them to at least balance the budget every year. We can’t continue to rack up debt if we ever expect to pay off the debt we already have. I don’t believe the U.S. will default but I wouldn’t be surprised if retirees, veterans and government contractors get I.O.U. checks next week. Congress, do you damn job please.

What an alternate reality this guy must live in. Reid’s proposal is so bizarre, CNN will have to hire Rod Serling to analyze it.

The next time my wife reminds me to walk the dog, I’m going to refuse repeatedly and then “deem” it done. Then I will blame her when the dog piddles on the carpet. Change!
