A old squadron Marine Corps friend of ours pointed out on FaceBook that the Google Map seems to have been adjusted to reflect to administrations contention that no one could get there in time. Google is saying it’s a NINETEEN HOUR FLIGHT from Aviano to Benghazi.
Damn. That has to be by State Department email retrieval time, because it’s only FOURHUNDRED AND FIFTY MILES as a crow flies. As an F-18 flies?

I semi-annually drive from Pottsville Pennsylvania to Kenosha Wisconsin (almost eight hundred miles) in roughly twelve hours. That includes food, fuel and bathroom breaks plus the fact I don’t exceed the speed limits by more than five miles an hour.
Liars are bad enough. Blatant liars are worse. Liars, whose lying skills are equal to a five year old caught filching cookies, are in a cesspit of their own.
Reminds me that back in the 60s, when the RAF and the RN were arguing over whether Britain should buy 50 F-111s of two aircraft carriers instead, the RAF produced a map of the Indian Ocean for the politicians deciding the matter that put Australia 500 miles closer to Africa than it really is, to indicate that F-111s flying from Oz could do whatever a carrier could.
