If Uncle Sugar Will Be Picking Up The Tab…

Why bother looking?

The unemployment rate fell as more people out of work gave up on their job searches and left the labor force. People who are no longer looking for work aren’t counted as unemployed.

Smoke and mirrors, baby.

Actually, it’s less people are drawing unemployment. Either they drew all their benefits and don’t qualify for more (no extensions) or they never qualified to begin with- meaning mostly their last employer denied their claim. These folks aren’t counted. And that’s scary.

If the actual number of people who are unemployed is counted, a crazy concept to even think of when you’re trying to come up with something called “the unemployment rate” I admit, than the real rate is something like 20%.

    Scary indeed.
