Let Me Apologize in Advance to Those Who Might Be Offended By My Words

Unions can f*ck off.

There. I said it.

They’ve Their Congressional butt boys’ve f*cked us over enough in the past year alone for several lifetimes. And it looks like they’ve scored what little’s left in the pot.

Unions Tentatively Strike A Deal Regarding Excise Tax

Unions tentatively struck a deal Tuesday to exempt collectively bargained healthcare plans from a tax on high-cost plans expected to be used to help raise revenue for the healthcare overhaul.

AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka, Service Employees International Union President Andy Stern and United Auto Workers President Ron Gettelfinger met with House Speaker Pelosi Tuesday, a day after labor leaders met at the White House to express their opposition to the excise tax.

I can’t believe they will actually go through with it. If they do, a bad year for Democrats will turn into an absolute rout.

I have no illusions about our govt. any more. Everything is bought and sold. Taxpayers are told, “Tough titties. Shut up and pay what we decree, put up with the way we’re screwing you, and if you complain, we’ll put you on a terrorist watch-list, instead of the people we SHOULD be putting on it.”

There are other little gems buried in the health insurance bill that benefit unions, such as union chiefs controlling some key government agencies the bill would expand or create, forcing small companies to provide gold-plated union-like insurance and on and on.

The short answer is that the Dems have given unions a big, lucrative role in designing and running government health regulations. And given that the bill bars future Senates from revoking it without a 67-vote approval, we’ll probably get stuck with this forever.

Get yourself a gummint job. It’s you only hope.

I feel like such a Democrat when I say this, but it seems as though our only hope will be to take it to the courts.

  5. JeffS says:

Cullen, I wouldn’t count on the courts. We may have to rely on the Second Amendment.

Ed Morrissey has an interesting take on this.

Herding people into different classes of citizenship, picking winners and losers, is the hallmark of an industrial policy, near and dear to the heart of every socialist. What’s not to like?
