More Government Bucks Down the Tubes

…all for a Silky Pony mistrial.

Terrific.

Meh. I was happy just to see him withdraw from the presidential race.

And I really don’t care to hear about him anymore. If he does commercials, I can always change the channel.

    Perish the thought…

But it’s really not outside the realm of possibility, is it?

  3. aelfheld says:

Hate saying it but the mistrial is a good thing. The case against Edwards was (is?) a huge reach by the feds. Mark Steyn has the right of it – they were prosecuting him for not being the family man he presented himself to be.

  4. JeffS says:

Steyn has a point, but it’s more likely Edwards was brought up on charges because he showed the world what a collection of worthless politicians we have here in the USA. His ineptitude shed more than a little light on just how corrupt and self-serving a lot of them really are.

  5. mojo says:

Yeah, turns out being a despicable scumbag is not actually a crime.

    Go figure.

  6. aelfheld says:

JeffS, no arguing that Edwards is corrupt and self-serving. It’s the expansion of law well beyond the bounds of sanity that troubles me.

  7. nightfly says:

Weren’t they charging him with using campaign funds to pay off his mistress? Pretty sure that’s a ticket to Club Fed right there.

  8. JeffS says:

Agreed, aelfheld. I just pointed out how other corrupt and self-serving politicians would use the law to cover their own heinies.
