NJ Unemployment Rate Drops…

…because the Government hires more people

The state Labor Department says New Jersey’s unemployment rate dropped slightly in October as monthly job losses slowed.

The jobless rate for October was 9.7 percent, down one-tenth of a percent from September. That’s lower than the national rate of 10.2 percent.

Figures released today show private sector employment fell by 4,400 jobs last month while government employment rose by 2,600.

So now we have fewer working residents supporting more state workers.

Gov. Christie, this has got to stop. Before you cut taxes you must cut spending.

Also, the sum of private and public employment is a net loss of 1800 and yet the unemployment rate goes down. How many thousands were shifted into the “I give up” category to accomplish that? Or did they flee the state? Good news!

You’re actually looking at the numbers?

    You, Sir, are a racist.

Too funny @ Dave’s ending comments.

  4. Mr. Bingley says:

Actually, don, Dave should be careful what he wishes for as the people fleeing NJ may move to where he lives!

    Mr. B.-I denounce myself.

And I’m not too worried about a sudden influx of people from New Jersey. Heck, probably half the people on the East Coast think Minnesota is in Canada and they wouldn’t want to go through the hassle of getting a visa. BTW, please don’t enlighten those folks.

  6. Mr. Bingley says:

But Dave, as a frequent traveler from my Joisey swamps to yours there in Minny-soh-ta I feel it is my sacred duty to spread the news of their manifest joys and attractions!

    Good convo.

Bingley-You and all the fine Swillers are always welcome of course, so by all means spread the word here. It’s those bus tickets that you hand out in Newark that we object to.

  9. Gary from Jersey says:

So there you have it. Corzine knew in September he was gonna lose so he packed Trenton with his pals. Unemployed Democrat hacks? Won’t anyone think about their children?

Dave E., we also hand out Jacksons to encourage the less fortunate to “vote,” snicker, snicker.
