Bury proceeds from Armored Truck Heist in someone else’s yard
Los Angeles (CNN)Cesar Yanez was convicted this summer of an armored-truck heist where he and his accomplices made off with a cool million.
On Thursday, cops recovered more than half of that. It was buried in the backyard of his Southern California home in Fontana, about 50 miles east of Los Angeles.
The details of the heist itself are comical. The guy worked for the armored car company, and he and a coworker just pulled over during their route and dumped a bagful of the cash into a garbage can that accomplices then retrieved.
Not exactly Criminal Masterminds 101.
And the other criminal mastermind is reading that story and mumbling, “more than half?”.
This case sounds like a storyline from “Justified” except the convicted felons name would have been Dewey Crowe.
