(CNN) — Former baseball slugger Jose Canseco accidentally shot himself in his left finger while cleaning a gun, police said.
He was in surgery Tuesday night, his fiancee tweeted.
“This is Leila . Thank you all for the kind words and prayers . Jose is in still surgery and will be ok. Please pray for his finger !!,” she said in a tweet posted to his account.
According to that font of veracity Wikipedia he has lost his middle left finger, which has probably reduced his working vocabulary by 50%.
He is an idiot.

The finger damage came from a ricochet. The bullet hit him on the forehead first.
I thought this was going to be about Boston’s Torey Krug, who lost the tip of a finger getting slashed by Minnesota’s Zack Parise last night.
If he’d have lost his index finger he’d have to hire someone to pick his nose.
