It’s a democrat thing. When I lived in Iceland as a 14 year old, Vice President Walter Mondale came to the country. It’s a small place and he was there for several hours, but he didn’t take the time to say even a small greeting to the military and civilians stationed there.
What was being said, however, goes to the heart of the internal campaign instinct to make Obama look like a president as often as possible on this trip — and especially at the massive event/speech in Berlin.
Which goes to the heart of Obama’s primary problem: he has to appear to be presidential, because he is not qualified to be president*. And putting form before function is at the heart of Dhimmicratic politics.
