Quote Of The Day
Asked if he has ever played a hole like he played the 15th on Sunday, Mickelson laughed and said, “Unfortunately, quite a few.”

He means, “Fortunately, quite a few.”
Great quote!
don, he really means “unfortunately.” Phil has a history of taking some crazy chances and having some wild holes. I happened to be watching the tournament yesterday. His ball was was never near the hole until he put it on the green. His drive was wild left and he hit his second shot off of the pavement…with a 3 wood. It was insane! 🙂
I like how they called the hole a “short” 529 yard par five.
Major dad, the upcoming US Open at Pebble Beach has a 510 yard par four (the 2nd, I believe) and a 495 yard par 4 (the 10th). The game is for the bombers today, not the shot makers. Rather sad, in my opinion.
Also, Syd, the new “fad” at tour events is to have a short 350 or so yard par 4 that the pros can attempt to drive.
