Somali pirates attacked a French Navy ship by accident Tuesday night. Five suspects are in custody.
Of course, it WAS the French and they’re sneaky bastards.
Was it the croissants, strong tobacco, French roast or Carla Bruni warbling over the loudspeakers that lured them in?
I’ll bet they never tell us.

Actually, this isn’t the first time they’ve done this – attack a Coalition naval oiler by mistake, probably thinking it was a civilian tanker. They did it to a US Navy civilian crewed ship in 2008, I believe to a German Navy oiler a few months later, and now to this French oiler / logistics ship. “If it’s big and gray, stay away” would be my advice, but then, they ain’t too bright.
That may also not rhyme in arabic or Somali. 😛

In other news, guilt over oppression of poor Somali pirates has forced France to buy houses for them on the Cote d’Azure. They also promised to remove all Allied graves to atone for those knuckle-dragging Navy SEALS who may have hurt some feelings.
