Scots Whae WTF?!?!?

I have so far not commented on the release by Scotland of the bastard convicted in the Pan-Am bombing because it has just infuriated me beyond any measure of coherency. Hopefully this act of petulant folly by their ministers will cause a big backlash against the SNP.

If I write anything else it will quickly degenerate into expletives.

I suppose someone, somewhere is giving the “humanitarian reasons” explanation – the guy is dying of cancer, they would argue, shouldn’t he be permitted to say a last goodbye to his family?

Still, I can’t help but think of all the families (most from the US) of people on that plane who didn’t get to say a last goodbye to their loved ones.

On a personal note: Lockerbie was the beginning of the time I feared flying. I haven’t flown since 1999, and it would take an enormously important reason to get me on a plane today.

I thought it would have been better to be able to ask all those folks in the 747 and on the ground if THEY’D rather die in their own beds or in a fiery crash, before giving their murderer that choice. Since, thanks to him, they didn’t GET that chance to choose, he should have finished his life rotting in that cell.

    Gordon Brown needs to go.

Isn’t it jolly nice that next month Prince Andrew will be visiting the Libyan government (again). Gosh, I hope the British government is thrilled about the oil business they’re going to do, all paid for with the blood of their “allies” who were blown apart alive over Lockerbie. It’s that appallingly simple.

In 1990, I went to work at a law firm, and we handled the estate of the young man from Little Rock who was killed in the Lockerbie bombing.

Reading the documents filed regarding his death and the manner in which he died is burned into my memory. Horrible.

I will never, ever, forget the photo of that young woman still strapped in her seat, hanging limp in a tree. I just don’t have the words to describe what I think of the Brits at this moment.
