It is a sign of the decline of democracy that this wannabe tyrant was not only elected, but also reelected in competition with a much better man, after four years of miserable failures. Was Heraklitos correct when he denounced democracy: “The mob fill their bellies like beasts”? Obama’s appeal, “Vote for me and I’ll give you free stuff,” won him a second term after he made a pig’s breakfast of everything he set his hand to.
Oh for a President Sarah Palin. We need somebody who is competent, has moral integrity, and has courage.
Having found such a person, she was immediately driven out of politics by vicious scum. The fact that they could do that using the media and the legal system, and that we the people did not stop them and see through their lies, is a grave reproach to the people of the US of A.
