So now that there is a new tragedy the president wants to have a “national conversation on guns”. Here’s the thing. Until this national conversation is willing to entertain allowing teachers to carry concealed weapons, then it isn’t a conversation at all, it is a lecture.

…The single best way to respond to a mass shooter is with an immediate, violent response. The vast majority of the time, as soon as a mass shooter meets serious resistance, it bursts their fantasy world bubble. Then they kill themselves or surrender. This has happened over and over again.

Read the whole thing.

I mean it, it is the best post I have seen on this issue. Memorize it.

    I read it earlier today. And I’ll be forwarding it on. An excellent read, indeed.

    @Jeff I too. I’ve been saying a lot of what he says for years – but without his credits.

    However, I will say that I convinced my mother (at least for a few minutes – she’s got alzheimer’s and, for a Republican, is DISGUSTINGLY pacifistic – oh just let them kill/rape/torture you – you might have to fight, otherwise – and that’s not LADYLIKE) that arming teachers was not a bad thing.

    (If you get the idea that my mother – as a Republican., is part of the problem, you are probably right….)

  3. Mr. Bingley says:

    Kathy, I really like how he addresses the arming teachers bit. It makes perfect, reasonable sense.

  4. Mr. Bingley says:

    Oh, and it costs, er, nothing.

    “Oh, and it costs, er, nothing.”

    @Mr. Bingley EXACTLY!

    And is therefore forever banned from mainstream politics. 🙁

    LEFT OR RIGHT. Sorry, yer token indi here.

  6. JeffS says:

    Hell, if a teacher wants a pistol, and can’t afford one, I’ll pick up the tab. And for the concealed carry holster.

  7. Kathy Kinsley says:

    P.S. Ain’t no profit in it…

  8. Kathy Kinsley says:

    @JeffS

    And so would I – at least once or twice, I’m poor but proud. But where could we advertise that?

  9. JeffS says:

    Good question, Kathy. Tell the NRA, maybe?

  10. Kathy Kinsley says:

    Might work…

  11. Yojimbo says:

    Let the unions pay for the guns. It’s their people that are in danger. Make some of their dues go for productive causes for once.
