Yesterday, the National Association of Home Builders announced that confidence among builders had dropped to a new low since March 2009. Today, the Census Bureau and HUD explain why. Residential construction dropped another 3.1% in July from the previous month, and is now 3.7% below that of a year ago

I read somewhere that Habitat for Humanity is now the largest homebuilder in the nation.
While I don’t doubt that they do good work, I still find it disturbing that a low-cost, essentially charity homebuilding group is now building most of the houses.
Yes. That’s why habitat for humanity is evil. It displaces those who need to get paid building homes while rewarding people who won’t spend money wisely.
There are at least five new houses going up in our neighborhood, but we may just be a pocket of “good” in a nation of “suck.”
