Upset By The White House Taking The Lead In Pissing Off Allies…
…The House of Representatives decided to fulfill one of candidate Obama’s promises by advancing a resolution declaring that Turkey committed genocide
A U.S. congressional committee approved a resolution condemning the 1915 slaughter of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire as genocide, rejecting a last-minute Obama administration effort to derail it and putting a chill on relations with Turkey.
The resolution, approved on a 23-22 vote, faces an uncertain future in Congress, but nonetheless could damage U.S. relations with Turkey, a vital ally in the Middle East and Central Asia. Within minutes of the vote, Ankara said it was recalling its ambassador from Washington for consultations. Turkey took a similar step in 2007, when the committee passed a similar resolution.

Wow Dude, they did kill a million innocent people.A little diplomatic crisis is no big deal. How about the
Japanese’s failure to apologize
about the rape of Nanking?
I don’t think the government cares one way or the other,it’s all about
lobbyists.
How about getting some jobs for Americans? By they way the census takers will decrease un employment-for one month.
How about getting some jobs for Americans?
Great idea. Now, tell that to Congress.
What happened to the Armenians was terrible. However, it’s cheap moral vanity for some irrelevant committee to pass a toothless symbolic judgment on a foreign event almost 100 years after the fact. Present- day Turks are not responsible for what happened any more than present-day Germans are responsible for the Holocaust. Aren’t Americans irritated when self-righteous foreigners ding us about the ‘genocide” of Native Americans?

And slavery, no less.
As a result we get “We can now declare the rapprochement with Armenia dead…”
I’m sure that will be productive. I had a driving school instructor who called this kind of thinking “six foot under, pushing up daisies, dead right.”
