Yep. The Air Force’s F14D Tomcat has always been one of my favorites next to the U.S. Navy’s B1 Bomber (derp).
Two words for ya, Nike… Fact Checkers.
Some intern at Nike probably went into Google Images and entered the phrase “most bad-ass pilots”. Unfortunately for the intern the only images that came up were pictures of Navy aviators. The intern just didn’t the difference.
just didn’t KNOW the difference.
They probably think that all jet planes belong to the air force.
I thought all jet fighters belong to the Marines.
Couldn’t “airmen” include all military fliers?
No. It’s like saying “soldier” or “Marine”, Miss Red ~ a specific Air Force term, especially in this instance and intent. I don’t know if you’ve seen the AF’s recent commercial featuring Air Force females (officer and enlisted), but they have a JAG lawyer, fighter pilot, fire fighter and a medic, and they ALL say “…and I am an American Airman.”
