A Wise Man

…has spoken.

A peppy Scottish terrier known as Sadie was crowned the nation’s top dog on Tuesday, winning Best in Show at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club championship.

Beau had been on the couch and ready in anticipation of this happy event for hours before the broadcast…

(major dad had a helluva time getting the remote away from him)
Given the obvious Scottie bias, reaction in casa de major dad was muted at first, thanks to the stunning conclusion.

Once they were all assured it was truly “for reals”, a jubilant cookie time ensued, with raucous cheers of “Sadie!” disturbing the peace until well after midnight.

Dreams DO come true.

   That’s a fine looking pack THS. I’d bet the Scotty in the foreground is the Alpha dog.

   Nope, that’s Ozzie. He is not the alpha dog that would be the innocent looking female Boo Boo at the top of the picture. Beau Beau the Lab has more than a couple of scars because of her to include a missing section of ear. Ozzie will thump Boo on ocassion but the two males differ to her, first to get fed, first to get a treat, first to go outside etc.

   Well, thank you so much, Bill! And (as my schweet hubby has pointed out and the Real JeffS can attest to) appearances can be deceiving, lemme tell ya. She’s significantly older than the other two (9 yrs vs 6/Oz and 5/Beau, who were both “rescues”) and significantly lighter (19 lbs vs 36/Oz and 115/Beau). She broke in her baby teeth on our much loved MacKinley (who, co-incidentally, launched Bingley and NJSue into Labradorkdom) and major dad’s fingertips, and starred on SwillStuff before gradually specializing in plastic surgery.

   She’s a piece of work in the Scottiest way.
