All Those Lives and All Those Who Come to Honor Them

Those who work tirelessly so no veteran goes to his eternal rest alone.

And Houston’s National Cemetery Director can arbitrarily do this?

…he says the cemetery director won’t allow the use of “God” or “Jesus” unless the family submits the prayer in writing for her approval.

That original veterans group is in court already, having won an injunction against the “instructions”. Here’s more info from Big Government:

To recap, the Houston National Cemetery Director, Arleen Ocasio, requires grieving families to not use the words “God” or “Jesus” at any personal funeral ceremony without her written approval. I wrote about this censorship and travesty in a post last week. Ms. Ocasio has stated that she was only trying to make prayers more inclusive of other religions. Hmm. If she truly is trying to make prayers more inclusive of other religions, why has she:

1.… instructed Veterans of Foreign Wars District 4 to remove prayers from its burial rituals and to no longer utter remarks when handing the discharged shell cases from the rifle salute to the family of deceased veterans?
2.… instructed American Legion Post 586 to remove prayers from its burial rituals?
3.… told the National Memorial Ladies that they could no longer include “God Bless” in their condolence cards or speak religious messages to veterans’ families?
4.… shut down the Cemetery chapel and use it now for only a storage and meeting facility?

It’s passing strange times we live in.

We are being governed by a criminal enterprise.

Can there be more to this story?

If not, how can this NOT be seen as a violation of the First Amendment? From all I’ve read, this has nothing to do with people being forced to listen to a particular brand of religious talk, but rather, families being told they cannot engage in the form of religious talk they see fit…this is wrong, wrong, wrong, if it’s happening as it’s being presented in the news media.

Give Obamists credit for still being able to piss off millions of people after two years of outrages. Even the dead can’t rest in peace.

Is there a nice way to tell her blow it out her ass?

BTW, what other religion is offended by the word “God”?

Seems to me, in a private funeral ceremony, as long as I don’t have hootchey mama dancing girls stripping in plain view of other graves, or a Santeria priestess slicing the chicken neck right there, who GIVES a flying watuzi how your grief is salved and your dead veteran laid to his/her eternals rest/meeting the ferryman.

And is she only approving Christian prayers?

Step one: Fire this woman… out of a canon. I only jest. But really, the claim that this is intended to make the funerals more inclusive is BS. It makes no logical sense. Wouldn’t your friends and family know if you are religious or not AND if they had a problem with your religion, they could choose not to attend. The adults will suck it up and attend to honor their friend/family member.

She doesn’t deserve a “nice way”, she deserves a 2X4 over that butt on the way to the door.

I’d be Jesus-ing extra-double once I got a wind of this. What’re they gonna do, dig my loved one back up? She can cram it with walnuts.

I agree with mojo. Ignore her restrictions (which seem to me to be First Amendment violations) and see if anyone has the stones to make arrests.

That woman is just plain dumb as well as ignorant.
