A pizza deliveryman who shot two would-be robbers to death in east Charlotte said Tuesday that he didn’t draw his concealed pistol until the last possible second, when he thought he would be killed.
Throughout the robbery attempt, as the men hit and pistol-whipped him inside a cooler at an east Charlotte Pizza Hut, the driver said he kept his right elbow pinned tightly against his body – holding a Glock 22 under his shirt and out of view.
He said he didn’t want to use the gun unless he was forced to. But as one of the men lifted his shirt, nearly exposing the gun, the deliveryman opened fire.
The two men killed – Gregory James Hardy and Dauntrae Wallace – were both 21-year-old convicted felons, one on probation and one awaiting trial on unrelated charges.
This poor driver is a true hero and a model of calm, patient restraint.

I am so glad he did us all such a service. Who knows how many others were beaten and robbed and how many more might have been from these thugs. The quality of people has been raised by their deaths.

Amazing restraint and maybe not too smart. I would have pulled the gun at the hint of trouble. Funny how looking at the business end of a .45 will redirect the bad intentions of a crimminal. Regardless, kudos to this guy for eliminating to pieces of crap from the planet.

Good for him. I wonder how long it will take Pizza hut to fire him for defending himself? (Yes, it has happened before.)
We had a Pizza Hut delivery guy shoot and kill his attacker here last year and everyone, myself included, wanted to give him a parade. He had been attacked and beaten twice before. Anyway, I was practicing for the parade with my “batons of fire” which basically was just a broom set ablaze but I kept catching my hair on fire so I didn’t attend.
God Bless America. In most countries, this guy would be dead now and his murderers still roaming the streets.
