   Horses and dogs, truly man’s best friends. They will do anything that you ask them to. They will willingly give up their lives for you.

   When my dad was 15 him and his twin brother ran away from their home on the rez in South Dakota. They rode their horses out west into Montana to participate in the Indian rodeos that took place in the summer. On their way out there his twin brother’s horse reared-up suddenly on the trail they were following. It stomped to death a rattler that was next to the trail.

   Needless to say my dad taught his three sons to ride, and to love the old mare he taught us on.
