Libya: Britain admits Col Gaddafi could stay on
Britain has conceded that Col Muammar Gaddafi could stay on in Libya if he gives up the levers of power and opts for a quiet retirement.
William Hague, the Foreign Secretary, admitted for the first time that Britain could agree to cut short the war before military action had driven Col Gaddafi into exile.
The government was forced to embrace a new stance after both France – whose Foreign Minister Alain Juppe was in London – and the Libya opposition publicly suggested that Col Gaddafi could yet remain in Libya.
An agreement allowing Col Gaddafi to chose internal exile would allow the dictator to escape war crimes charges at the International Criminal Court.

I haven’t noticed it mentioned anywhere but if or when old Q-ball is taken down who gets the bill to replace all the blasted infrastructure that NATO has described as communication nodes etc.
