   lost power for 14 hours. well, actually 13 hours if you factor in the stupid clock change thing. my brook overflowed and the water filled my entire woodlot and came right up to the back of my house. as soon as it stopped raining early this morning, it started to drain like someone pulling the plug out of a bath tub. quite a sight.

   We are just like those first colonial settlers – suffering the ill effects of extreme weather. I bet their dogs refused to go outside in the rain, too.

   Just to show how far behind we are, the Bayshore gets wrecked yesterday and poles here fall this morning. Of course, the Ocean Grove fire was huge but we didn’t get the 70 mph winds that terrorized your Webber.

   There were phone poles down all along Rte. 35, traffic lights out, and a big tree blocking one of the side streets around here. We’re lucky this was just rain, too – had it been cold enough for snow we’d have had 2+ feet and tons of stuff would have been falling over.

    I’m *hoping* at worst to just find some chipped porcelain; not sure when I’ll have a chance (and some light) to take a peek. I doubt it’s too bad.
