   To paraphrase Mr. Bingley in the previous post, I feel a great disturbance in the Farce.

   I understand that 1,265 members of the WH staff are being furloughed as nonessential. Fire ’em all. If they’re not essential, they shouldn’t be there. The staffs of government’s bigwigs are nothing more than a collection of courtiers. The picture of eager job-seekers around Obama in 2009 reminded me of what I read of the greedy courtier wannabes, eager to get jobs or land handouts, swarming James I when he became King of England in 1603 after Elizabeth died (described in a book called “After Elizabeth” by Leanda de Lisle).
