The First Lady landed in the Costa del Sol this morning for a break with her youngest daughter Sasha, nine.
…She is on a four-day visit and will be staying at the five-star Villa Padierna, rated as one of the world’s top 30 hotels, with 40 friends. The party has reserved 60 rooms.
…America’s First Lady’s Air Force Two jet touched down at Malaga airport where Mrs Obama, who turns 49 today, arrived wearing sunglasses and carrying a large black bag.
She and Sasha were then transported by car to the seaside resort of Marbella.
…Ricardo Arranz, the hotel owner confirmed the Obamas had reserved 60 rooms for themselves, their friends and their security team.
…The White House confirmed Mrs Obama is in southern Spain for ‘a private, mother-daughter trip with long-time family friends’.
…About 70 U.S. Secret Service agents are also in Marbella, some of them dressed undercover as touriststs.
This is, well, it’s frankly a goddamned outrage. Even without our enormous budget problems this would be obscene; now it simply beggars belief.
Or maybe I should say us beggars better believe it.

I recall the howls of “outrage” whenever Bush took a vacation at his Texas home…..at minimal expense to the taxpayers.
For Queen Michelle and her royal entourage? Hear those crickets!

Well, you can let them have it when they wing by on their way to Martha’s Vineyard in a month or so, for THAT vacation.

Well, she is stimulating the economy … of Spain.
The reason is ‘because they can’.No one cares anymore about anything,except what they casn get away with.
We’ve entered into the end game.The Queen piece was lost six moves ago the US is playing with two rooks in its place.Soon Checkmate will happen.
If she wanted a beach vacation at the expense of the taxpayer she could have chosen the Gulf Coast, they could use the money and the publicity. That would have been more palatable.
Do you have any idea how many people they displaced in Spain? August is THE vacation month in Europe where anyone who can flees the city for the country or the ocean. That resort had to be fully booked.
Such sensitivity to the plight of her voter base.
