Dodd Won’t Seek Re-Election

On one hand it’s great, of course, as the more of these corrupt politicians who get pushed aside the better. I would have preferred, of course, for him to have run and then lost in the general election, as that would take the seat out of Democratic hands. We’ll just have to see what sort of candidates are fielded against Blumenthal, assuming he runs. While in theory he is “popular” he is also a self-serving AG in the style of Eliot Spitzer, and I think that those comparisons will be played up over the coming months.

The Democrats clearly see that they have a lot of blood in the water, and there’s a lot of strong-arming going on to get their weaker incumbents to bow out now so the Party Machine has time to get the replacements anointed.

This is going to be a very interesting, nasty and expensive election cycle this year.

And a vitally important one.

Apparently, THIS fellow is running for the Republican side. Hope he gets some traction.

It is nice to see some of the scum dropping off. But the 2010 elections are going to more than expensive, given how the Dhimmicrats stand to lose big. The 2008 elections will be an afternoon social in comparison.

Don’t get your hopes up, Jeff. Voters historically blame everyone but their representatives when things go wrong.

The GOP will gain some seats next year, assuming the RNC wakens from it coma or somebody shoots them and Tea Party organizers mount a coup.

Lots of Dems are dropping out (with golden parachutes) to let the machines run someone untainted by Democrat history in Congress.

They’ll probably win because the GOP has no leadership, no message, no core beliefs and no spine.

  4. JeffS says:

That wasn’t my point, Gary. The 2008 elections saw a low point in the amount of mud slinging, astroturfing, and other aspects of dirty politics.

With so much on the line, the Dhimmicrats are going to crank up their propaganda machine to new levels of invective.

    And that won’t be pretty.

  5. Mr. Bingley says:

The GOP has demonstrated time and time again that once elected they mostly become Democrats in blue blazers.
