Charlie Brown, watch your back — a plague of vicious wild beagles has struck Long Island!
These floppy-eared terrors are no lovable Snoopys — they’re abandoned hunting dogs that live in packs and have gone from humble pets to hounds from hell.
Mattituck resident Dot Faszczewski came face to face with the canine menace two weeks ago, when she was set upon by a group of crazed, hungry beagles as she walked her pet dogs near her parents’ Orient Point home.

Beware — Scotties aren’t any bigger than mere beagles.
But they have far more teeth, and know how to use them.
If they were really “terrorizing” you would think they could come up with more than one incident to cite. I would never defend someone who abandons a dog, but that article struck me as more of an anti-hunter screed than anything else.
Crazed beagles. That set the tone for my whole day.
I agree with Dave. I doubt they are so vicious that a box of Milkbones couldn’t calm them down.

Wasn’t this in an episode of the Oblongs? Bob has to go somewhere and says something like, “I may get attacked by the neighborhood dogs again… The Hendersons’ beagle is out there!”

That article clearly was anti-hunter, Dave. I suspect that the “terrorized” person was just MSU (“Making S**t Up”).
That would make it a strawdog argument on gun control then.
If there is a pack of feral dogs out there a couple of good hunters with semiauto rifles should take care of the problem.
