Representative Giffords shot in Arizona, gunman held
Representative Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona was shot in the head while holding a public event in Tucson, Fox News and National Public Radio reported on Saturday.
Something of this magnitude…

…and they’re saying upwards of 15 poor folks shot, with multiple fatalities ~ and the f*cking major networks couldn’t possibly break into their BASKETBALL GAME, could they?
Thank God they’ve got the bastard.
UPDATE: Miraculously Rep. Giffords was wounded in the gunfire, along with 18 others ~ killing six of them (that nine year old was one among them) ~ by this unhinged loser and what the Pima County Sheriff insists is not a lone assailant:
Sheriff Clarence Dupnik, from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, said at a press conference that he is “not convinced he acted alone,” and that there is a second suspect believed to be a white male in his 50s. He went on to describe the shooter as ‘unstable’ with a troubled past.
Great. More dickweeds. UnSPEAKABLE.

Good God. I hope everyone shot comes out of this OK.
God, I may have misspoke….AJC is reporting 7 fatalities, including Giffords.

OK, clearly no really knows what is happening.
Time to wait.
I think that report is incorrect. One of our local stations is reporting that she is currently in surgery at Tucson Medical Center in critical condition. There is supposed to be a press conference in about 15-20 minutes, or not.
Correction, that is University Medical Center not TMC. UMC is supposed to releasing more information shortly, or not, the press has no idea what they are talking about they are just filling air time.

There will be a press conference in 10 minutes by someone. UMC will hold a press conference at 1:30 local time.

One of the local stations just reported tht the shooter is 21. They got that from a police source in the DC area. We’re still waiting for the UMC presser. Fox is reporting that a federal judge was also shot.
This is just awful. My prayers are with the families of those who were shot, and the injured, and with the doctors who are trying to save lives. And for all the people who had to witness this.

It’s all such a waste of talent and life.A young man wastes his life, a Congresswoman receives brain damage, many die and nothing changes.Only an organized opposition can change things.
Not only did Dupnik brand the nitwit as unstable he blamed talk radio, the Tea Party and their hate speech for convincing said nitwit to shoot the congressperson. He then proceeded to flail away at SB1070 for making Arizona the hate capitol of the country. A good deal of his presser was a rant. It was very unprofessional and he should be forced to resign. It should be noted that Dupnik is a “leading light” in the local Democratic Party in Arizona. Grab the video and see for yourself.
