I Can’t Do Any More Than Tell You

what Radley said in his Tweet:

“The comments to this moronic blog post made my afternoon.”

The title?
Why white people should oppose Whole Foods coming to Jamaica Plain
Oy.

Ouch. The kid’s young. Forget the liberal arts degree he probably has ~ his real education has just kicked him in the pants.

If my Philadelphia grocery shopping experience of years ago (dirty, dingy stores) is any experience, the residents of Jamaica Plains are seriously jonesing for a Whole Foods and are not thrilled about this kid’s post.

  2. JeffS says:

Oof! That kid ought to hiding in shame.

    But I doubt it — he’s way too self-centered.

And my evening. There are still sane people left in the world. And I hope the kickS in the pants teach that poor deluded child something.

    Kid, meet the real world.

And today, the comments are closed. The weasley paragraph explaining his high minded reason for closing the comments is priceless.

Mark, that IS a classic and thank you for the update. So young lad learned NOTHING, whilst we are still the great unwashed whites, apparently.

  7. Mori says:

My favorite line from his post is, “I recognize that my own presence in Jamaica Plain attracts upscale corporations to here…”

Self-centered with atrocious grammar to boot! I am glad he isn’t lacking in self-esteem. But I have to ask, exactly what does he have to offer upscale corporations?

I’m very disappointed to have missed the comments. Everyone needs a laugh.

Comments closed and deleted. Reason: “I decided to disable the comments section to this blog post. I’ve received a ton of positive feedback on this article from a culturally, economically, and politically diverse group of people and to date it has been viewed over 1700 times. However, the comments left were entirely negative and I felt like they took away from the article while not providing anything constructive.”

Frick. They’re not in the cache that I can find either, but I’m not terribly clever that way.

  10. tree hugging sister says:

“Entirely negative” meaning “disagreed completely and called me condescending in 90% of them”. Most left by people of color who felt obliged by his tone to identify themselves as such and they were none too happy about that either.

    But no one was rude.
