If It Also Means No More “Have You Ever Taken Aspirin for a Headache ?!?!?!!”

…out-of-state law firm commercial solicitations trolling for class action lawsuit clients, I am ALLLLL for it.

Since passing tort reform in 2004, Mississippi has seen the number of medical malpractice claims plummet by 91 percent from its peak. The state’s largest medical liability insurer dropped its premiums by 42 percent, and has offered an additional 20 percent rebate each year since tort reform went into effect.

…”…But this is the lowest hanging fruit, this ain’t rocket science. If they want a demonstration project, come down to Mississippi, and I’ll show you a demonstration project.”

My of my law professors, visiting professors, and other lawyers here in Texas are still complaining about tort law reform here.

Texas, especially in some very sparsely populated and poor counties, was once a haven for class action law suits. Not anymore. Thank goodness.

Can this be true??? Our Dear Leader says no, but he’s willing to set aside 25 million for some trials. Mind you… He could simply have looked at how states that put tort reform law onto the books are currently making out, but that would have made sense. Perhaps he’ll look at how a “Universal Healthcare” attempt has fared is states that tried that. Oh, who am i kidding. No need to look at that. Let’s just pull the trigger and go full boar into a single payer system. It would be great if it wasn’t so f’ing stupid!!!

If I’m not mistaken, tort reform and such would also solve the problem of there being whole COUNTIES with no practicing OBs because the malpractice insurance is so frigging high, and the fact that there are apparently lawyers who, if your kid DOESN’T grow up to be an NBA star or the next Einstein, will try to blame it on the doctor screwing up during delivery…
