Moran: Congress may take 2-week Easter break during shutdown
Rep. Jim Moran, D-Va., just delivered an extremely unwelcome message to a town hall full of soon-to-be-furloughed federal employees: Congress still plans take its scheduled two-week Easter break scheduled to begin April 18, even if lawmakers haven’t solved the budget mess by then:
“If you are a federal employee, I think you need to start conserving whatever financial resources you have…“
WHAT?!?!?!

The logical question is; can they be that stupid? The answer is yes they can! Something happens to these people when they get elected.
BTW a little side note, the General in charge of AfriCom who is in charge of the US involvement in Libya says that we may just have to put “Boots” on the ground to bolster the rebels and resolve this stalemate. Now, wouldn’t that be special?
Since a lot of the “little people” on the government payroll are gonna be working without pay, why not just suspend Congress’ pay until they resolve this?
And if they STILL decide to take the Easter break during, change the locks on the Capitol building.
Maybe there was a reason all those federal workers didn’t pay their taxes. They saw this coming.

AFAIK, Congress could take a 2-YEAR break. In fact, I think I’d actually be happy if they did so. After they make a nice simple law that says: “freeze the budget” until we have 1)NO debt. and 2) a surplus. After which they can increase it again up to 80% of surplus. (I’d like to say no increases but you’ve got to give them SOME incentive.)
