If You Live At The Shore Or In A Flood-Prone Area Get Out Now

The Asbury Park Press this morning is advising folks here in Monmouth and Ocean Counties to expect to be without power for 7-10 days. Thank god it’s not August or January.

If it comes ashore not as strong as feared then you’re out a couple of hundred bucks on hotel costs. Big friggin whoop. Because if we do get hit as potentially predicted, well, that will look like one hell of a bargain.

Seriously, don’t screw around.

Do what they tell you, ESPECIALLY since your own lying eyes can SEE the damn thing’s refired on the radar.

But you may luck out in one sense and get a daylight storm. Lemme tell you, shit flying by at 120+mph is a cheap thrill!

    Good luck, Mr. B.

Cheap thrill indeed. We saw that in Charley. Wouldn’t have been at all surprised to see the “Wicked Witch of the West” pedal on by. We certainly saw everything else fly by. No, as I’ve mentioned in previous comments, we were NOT prepared. We were lucky to survive. We had nice GLASS (board up–with 2 hours notice when it turned into us and a MAJOR hurricane in one swell foop? right.) Windows to look through. Ack. But we saw the stuff flying down the street…lots of stuff. Almost funny. Amazing the damage a flying port-a-potty can do (not to mention the ick factor).
